Class Taught:  Athlete Development Program (ADP) – 7ADP Physical Preparation Coordinator

Coaching Qualifications:  Benjamin is a Level 2 Strength and Conditioning Coach with the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association (ASCA), and a Professional Level Coach within the ASCA Professional Coach Accreditation Scheme. Benjamin is also a Level 1 Club Weightlifting/Sports Power Coach with the Australian Weightlifting Federation (AWF).

Achievements:  Benjamin has played Australian Rules Football with the Coburg Lions (formerly Coburg Tigers) Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL) competition between 2012 and 2016, where he was involved in the 2012 VFL Reserves premiership team. Benjamin has also played with the Western Jets Football Club in the Under-18 TAC Cup Competition in 2010. Benjamin has also played representative football, representing the Ballarat Football League in the AFL Victoria Community Championships in both 2016 and 2017.

Education Achievements:  Benjamin holds a Master of Exercise Science (Strength and Conditioning) from Edith Cowan University, and a Bachelor of Exercise Science and Human Movement from Victoria University. Benjamin also has a peer-reviewed article published in the Journal of Australian Strength and Conditioning (JASC) in 2015, entitled The Impact of Training and Competition Scheduling on the Effectiveness of Sleep, Recovery, and Performance.

Coaching Career:  Benjamin’s coaching career has included positions in Physical Preparation at Basketball Australia, the Victorian Institute of Sport (VIS), Melbourne Demons Football Club (Women’s), Lakeview Senior College, and the VU Western Spurs (formerly VU St Albans Spurs) Women’s Football Club, before arriving at Maribyrnong Sports Academy in 2016.
