PROGRAM AIMS
- We aspire to be recognized nationally and internationally as one of the finest schools for talented young T&F athletes
- To provide a training environment that will prepare developing athletes for selection in Athletics Australia pathway programs and national representation.
- To develop a culture that promotes consistent training habits and routines
The Training Program
All athletes in the MSA athletics program are expected to attend all scheduled technical training sessions conducted by MSA coaching staff. Athletes in a national pathway program (national u17 or u19 squad) can negotiate with the Head Coach an individual training schedule.
Athletes who are not in the national training program but wish to maintain an external coach can do so, provided they attend a minimum of two technical training sessions per week with an MSA technical coach.

Specialist Coaches and Staff
Darren Clark - Head Coach: Level 3 advanced multi event coach, Former SSV state coach, Maribyrnong Sports Academy Athletics head coach.
Gregor Gojrzewski - Squad Coach: Level 5 Middle and Long Distance Coach, Level 4 IAAF in Middle and Long Distance Coach , Talent Target Program State Coach for Distance.
David Battistella - Sprinters: Coaching our 200 - 400m runners. Was the coach of our 2018 Simplot games team
Alwyn Jones - Jumps Coach: Alwyn finished fifth at the 2004 World Junior Championships, won the bronze medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games and finished eighth at the 2006 World Cup. Alwyn is also a nine-time national champion.
Celeste Mucci - Multi Event Coach: Celeste is a past student of Maribyrnong Sports Academy who has completed her level 2 Multi Event Coaching Accreditation. Celeste will be assisting with MSA Head Athletics coach Darren Clark and his talented Multi Event Squad. Celeste is a World Junior and Commonwealth Games Athlete in Heptathlon.
